The Campus Health Same Day Care clinic treats students for medical conditions that require prompt medical evaluation. Patients are initially seen by a Registered Nurse to assess the nature of visit and then directed to the most appropriate clinical service within Campus Health.
Due to the ever-changing nature of urgent needs on campus, particularly during the time of COVID-19, request an appointment online or call for an appointment 919-966-2281. A provider can help you determine how quickly you need to be seen.
Hours of Operation
8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday – Friday as well as 8:00 am - 5:00 pm on Saturdays during the Fall and Spring semester. Last appointment begins 30 minutes prior to closing.
Note: On Saturday, there is a $50.00 service charge for visits to Campus Health and this charge is not covered by your insurance.* On Saturday, many Campus Health departments are not operating at full capacity. Students may need to return to Campus Health during regular hours to have all their health care needs met such as having labs drawn, x-rays taken, or prescriptions filled. During the academic year Same Day Care is supported on Saturdays by our Student Stores Pharmacy which is open from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Examples of Typical Same Day Care Visits
Student experiencing recent onset of the following symptoms should considering using Same Day Care
- Abdominal or pelvic pain
- Allergic or drug reactions
- Asthma attack or asthma not responding to medications
- Breathing difficulty or wheezing
- Broken bones
- Chest pain
- Contagious illness (Mumps, Chicken Pox)
- Disabling injury or pain
- Eye injuries
- Fainting episodes
- Fever over 102º F
- Head injury
- Migraine headaches
- Persistent vomiting and/or diarrhea
- Sexual Assault for initial assessment
- Urinary symptoms
- Wounds needing stitches
*The $50 weekend service charge is waived for COVID-19-related care including testing. Please remember that testing at Campus Health is reserved for those students experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Asymptomatic testing of students should be completed at the Carolina Together Testing Program.
