Appointments

Campus Health offers both in-person and telemedicine appointments. Providers can assist remotely for health issues such as a cough, sore throat, fever, runny nose, ear pain, pink eye, skin concerns, mental health needs, nutrition, gynecology issues, contraception, and prescription refills. Telehealth is provided by HIPAA-compliant Zoom. Please note that due to our role with COVID testing and tracing, appointments for non-acute issues may have a longer than usual wait to be scheduled. 

The best way to make an appointment is to request one on the Healthy Heels Portal and a scheduling staff member will call you back. Please answer your phone! Students may also call 919-966-2281 between 8 am and 5 pm Monday - Friday to schedule an appointment. Please talk to a Campus Health staff member on the phone prior to coming to Campus Health.  Due to over-the-phone screenings and no online direct scheduling of appointments, call volumes and portal appointment requests have increased. We appreciate your patience as we attempt to accommodate all patient requests and needs. Using multiple channels to contact Campus Health or calling multiple times with the same issue only increases delays. For CAPS visits, see caps.unc.edu.

All patients are screened for COVID risk and symptoms when the appointment is scheduled and outside the building prior to in-person appointments. Visit COVID-19 Service Details and FAQs for specific information related to services at Campus Health during COVID-19.

  • Prepare for your appointment
    • Complete your forms prior to your appointment to decrease your wait time.  
    • Update your local address and cell phone number through Connect Carolina at connectcarolina.unc.edu.
    • Have your insurance/pharmacy card (or a copy of the front and back of each card) and any medication you are currently taking or a list including medication name and dosage.
  • For in-person visits:
    • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment for screening and check-in. All patients except Physical Therapy appointments should check-in at the main doors where you will be screened prior to entry. Physical therapy patients can check in directly at the PT clinic unless they require a parking pass.
    • A limited number of parking spaces for Campus Health are available. All patients who requested a parking pass will receive a pass by email. If you do not have a printer or have not yet requested a pass, you may obtain a parking pass at check in. Please note, a pass does not guarantee that a parking spot will be available when you arrive.
    • Arriving later than the scheduled appointment time means the appointment could be rescheduled and no show charges may be placed on your account.
  • For telehealth visits: A HIPPA-compliant Zoom link will be emailed prior to your appointment time.

How to Cancel Your Appointment

Time has been specifically reserved for your scheduled appointment, procedure or treatment.

Please cancel or reschedule your appointment with Campus Health at least 24 hours in advance at healthyheels.unc.edu or call 919-966-2281. 

Failure to do cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance will result in a $25.00 fee. If your appointment is with a psychiatric medication provider, the fee is $65.00.
