Fall Vaccination Update

August 23, 2024

On August 22, the Food and Drug Administration approved the latest annual COVID-19 vaccines. These vaccines target the most prevalent strain of COVID-19.

Several months ago, Campus Health ordered a large inventory of new COVID-19 vaccines in anticipation of the FDA’s approval.

This page will be updated when the new COVID-19 vaccine is received and ready to be administered.

Once received, the COVID-19 vaccine will be available in Campus Health and in its on-campus pharmacies. COVID-19 and flu shots may be received at the same time if preferred. Health insurance will be billed for COVID-19 vaccinations provided at Campus Health and its on campus pharmacies; most health insurance plans fully cover preventative vaccinations. Bring your insurance card to your vaccination visit. Campus Health Pharmacy and Student Stores Pharmacy do not accept Medicare.

The CDC recommends the new COVID-19 vaccine and the flu vaccine for those aged six months or older and that it be received before the end of October for protection during the winter months.

People who recently experienced COVID-19 or received a COVID-19 vaccine should wait around three months before getting an updated vaccine.
