Transitioning from the military into university life can be a difficult and lonely process, resulting in a significant amount of stress. Student veterans face unique challenges that may interfere with academic success. Some of these complex issues include the following:

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at UNC’s Campus Health is here to help.

CAPS Services for Veterans include the following:

  • Walk-in Services
  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Couples therapy
  • Academic interventions
  • Medication management

Veterans who had “boots on the ground” in a combat zone can come to the Vet Center in Raleigh with their DD214 for free individual and group counseling services
