Resources for survivors, secondary survivors, and allies can be accessed at the SAFE@UNC website.

The following resources offer confidential services for survivors. You can find more info on the SAFE@UNC website about what types of resources (e.g. counseling, no contact orders, academic interventions, safe housing, evidence collection kits) are available to students and how to access them.

  • Campus Health Services
  • Counseling and Psychological Services
  • University Ombuds
  • The Gender Violence Services Coordinators (GVSCs) offer confidential support for those experiencing violence; students, faculty, and staff of all backgrounds and identities are welcome. The GVSCs provide emotional support, assistance in understanding reporting options and navigating reporting processes, and connecting individuals to University and community resources. Cassidy Johnson and Holly Lovern are located in the Women’s Center and can be reached by emailing gvsc@unc.eduor calling Cassidy at 919-962-1342 or Holly at 919-962-7430. Information regarding drop in hours can be found at http://womenscenter.unc.edu
  • Orange County Rape Crisis Center (off-campus)
  • Compass Center for Women and Families (off-campus)

In addition, UNC Student Wellness  is dedicated to creating a healthy, safe and socially just community. One way we work towards that goal is by implementing evidence-supported educational programs such as HAVEN and One Act, and coordinating campus and community stakeholders invested in prevention and response to interpersonal violence.
