Sarah Schwartz Sax is a clinical social worker at CAPS. Originally from Western Massachusetts, Sarah received her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Social and Environmental Justice from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI and her Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Smith College in Northampton, MA. Her professional interests include working with the LGBTQ community, sexual and gender identity, somatics, body image and disordered eating, transitions, grief, relationships, and anxiety.  Sarah’s eclectic perspective incorporates psychodynamics, interpersonal, feminist/anti-racism and intersubjective frameworks. Before getting her MSW, Sarah worked in the social justice field, farmed, and had a massage therapy practice. She is a registered yoga teacher, RYT-200. Outside of CAPS, Sarah likes going to hike around the Eno River, garden, sleep in, and has recently gotten into bird watching.
