RA Health Programming Guide - Stress

We all experience stress, both
good and bad, especially in college. Consider doing this workshop before final
exams to help your residents manage their stress!
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of the course, participants
will be able to:
- Reflect
on what causes them stress and what stresses others at UNC
- Practice
methods of relaxation and know other ways to help manage their stress
Materials:
Laptop/projector, easel with notepad, markers, chosen
activity materials
Preparation:
Gather relevant activity materials and print handouts
Workshop:
There
is a PowerPoint presentation
available that covers the basics of stress and tips for managing it that should
take 15 – 20 mins. The Tips to Manage Your Stress
handouts go well with the presentation, or could be used on their own to
facilitate a discussion about stress management. When the presentation or
discussion is paired with an activity or two, the workshop should take 40 – 120 mins, depending on your choice
of activity. Don't forget to check out the Resources page for more info!
