UNC-Chapel Hill recognizes the prevalence and impact of interpersonal violence within our community. We provide services for those students who have experienced sexual assault (including rape), abusive relationships, stalking, and sexual harassment.

In addition to supporting a campus-wide response to interpersonal violence, staff in Student Wellness focus on the prevention of interpersonal violence by empowering all students to take responsibility for creating a violence-free community by becoming engaged bystanders through skill development, increased knowledge, and confidence to make change.

Our Services Include:

  • Coordination of the Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence Training and Education Task Force
  • HAVEN, an initiative to increase support for student survivors of interpersonal violence
  • One Act, a skills-building bystander intervention training
  • Raise the Bar, an outreach and training project for teaching bartenders, bouncers, and managers bystander intervention skills to prevent drug faciliated sexual assault
  • Leadership in Violence Prevention class
  • Social Norms Marketing
  • Consultation for student groups, faculty, and staff organizing violence prevention programs
  • Educational Programs and Workshops for Student Groups and Organizations
  • Volunteer Opportunities
  • Policy Development
  • Assessment and Research
