Clinic I
Thevy Chai, MD Dr. Thevy Chai is a physician in Clinic I. She completed her Family Medicine residency at UNC-Chapel Hill and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She is from Laos but grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dr. Chai also attended UNC-Chapel Hill for her undergraduate and medical education. Susan Cohen, FNP Susan Cohen is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner in General Medicine and in the Women's Health clinic. A native of NYC, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. In addition, she received a Masters of Public Health from UNC Chapel Hill and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Duke. Her professional interests include health promotion and women's health.
Deborah Cole, FNP Deborah Cole is a Family Nurse Practitioner in Women's Health, General Medicine, and the After Hours Acute Care Clinics. She is a native of Robersonville, North Carolina. She received both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from UNC-Chapel Hill.
Ann Chelminski, MD Dr. Chelminski joins our General Medicine team in early September 2009.
Clinic II
Pamela Love, MD A Carolina Alumna, Dr. Pamela Love comes to Campus Health Services from New York City. She works in Clinic II. Board certified in Family Practice Medicine, Dr. Love received both her undergraduate and medical degrees from UNC- Chapel Hill. She completed an OB/GYN internship at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville and her family practice residency at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem. Corey McCabe, PA Corey McCabe is a Certified Physician Assistant in the General Medicine and After Hours Acute Care Clinics at Campus Health Services. A native of Kona Hawaii, Corey has continued to be a world traveller. He began his training in Cleveland Ohio and then at Duke University Medical Center and now has been with the University of North Carolina since 1995. In addition to primary care, Mr. McCabe has special interests in wound repair, sports injuries and is a Travel Health consultant.
Margaret Vimmerstedt, MD Dr. Margaret Vimmerstedt is a clinical medicine physician in Clinic II. She specializes in internal medicine. Dr. Vimmerstedt was born in Asheville and grew up in Wooster, Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Art in Chemistry at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, and her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Vimmerstedt coordinates the diabetes care team at Campus Health Services. In addition to primary care, Dr. Vimmerstedt has special interests in diabetes and travel medicine.
Bruce Vukoson, MD Dr. Bruce Vukoson works as a physician in Clinic II and is the director of Student Health Service’s After Hours Care program. He specializes in family medicine. Originally from McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Bruce attended West Virginia University for his undergraduate, graduate and medical education. Special interests include diagnosis and management of eating disorders.
Clinic III
Denise Dechow, MD Dr. Denise Dechow is a clinical medicine physician in Clinic III. Dr. Dechow grew up in Roanoke, Virginia and received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Virginia. Board Certified in Family Medicine, she received her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University-Medical College of Virginia and completed her Family Medicine residency at University of Pittsburgh-St. Margaret. In addition to general primary care, her special interests include women's health care issues. Katie Gaglione, NP Katie Gaglione is a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner in the General Medicine and After Hours Acute Care Clinics at Campus Health Services. A native of the Buffalo NY area, Katie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her graduate education includes a Master of Science degree in Nursing and post-Masters certificate in adult/primary care from the University of Rochester. Eszter Karvazy, MD Dr. Eszter Karvazy serves as a physician in Clinic III specializing in internal medicine. Dr. Karvazy received her medical degree "summa cum laude" at the Semmelweis Medical School in Budapest, Hungary. She completed her medicine internship and residency at Moses H. Cone Hospital, in Greensboro, NC. She has an interest in asthma management.
Depesh Patel, MD Dr. Depesh Patel is a clinical physician in Clinic III specializing in Family Medicine. Born in Surat, India, Dr. Patel moved to southeast Georgia at the age of 8. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mercer University, and his MD from Ross University School of Medicine. He subsequently completed his Family Medicine internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center. In addition to primary care, Dr. Patel’s professional interests include asthma, sports medicine, weight management, and women’s health. His non-clinical interests include integration of computers with clinical medicine. |
