Choosing Your Provider Campus Health Services (CHS) encourages students to participate actively in their health care decisions. Students may choose or be assigned a primary care provider in Clinical Medicine to coordinate students' care. Upon request, students may change providers at any time during their University experience.
Questions to consider when choosing and evaluating a Campus Health Services provider:
Do you:
- prefer a male or female provider?
- have a good relationship with your provider?
- feel comfortable with your provider and your treatment?
- feel like a partner in your health care?
- feel comfortable asking questions?
Does your provider:
- understand your concerns?
- have time to answer all your questions?
- fully explain your condition so you can understand your body?
- discuss your condition and treatment options thoroughly?
- give you information on how to take preventive measures in caring for yourself?
