As you experience college life at Carolina you'll be making important decisions and going through some changes. You'll be asked questions such as, "What are you trying to accomplish here?" "What do you want to do in life?" "How would you describe yourself to someone else?" and, of course, "What's your major?"
We are here to assist you in taking responsibility for your growth. As the psychologist David Campbell says, "If you don't know where you're going, you'll probably end up somewhere else." Of course, you also have to know where you are right now. We believe that you will have greater academic success if you pay attention to your goals in college and in life, your needs and feelings, your relationship with others, and your academic skills. We offer a variety of ways to help you work on career, educ ational, and personal concerns, one of which is this "Info and Self Help" section.
While in college you will grow in many ways - becoming more independent, gaining self-confidence, dealing with your emotions, establishing new relationships and figuring out your own values. It's natural that you may want help in making those changes. All of our services are designed to complement and support your academic work. We are a service for students and we're interested in getting to know you.
